A GOOD DAY - Elvin series

| |

Someone
To Lean On
I
couldn't believe my luck; finding these two winged gourds out
at Welburn Gourd Farm. They had grown together on the vine, like
twin souls vowing never to part. They became this sweet young
elvin couple watching the stars. Their blanket is made of polymer
clay.

I
Feel Pretty
Here
is Dawn. . . She's on top of the world. Some days are just like
that. Her dress is made from an especially dramatic winged gourd.
The rest of her is is polymer clay and some feathers for hair
|

Daydreaming
Here
Rog sits on a log enjoying the view with his familiar, Flix (the
frog.) Rog & Flix are made from polymer clay except for the
piece of root on which Rog sits.

Chocolate
Gremlin
We
all have one of these in our house or at work. They swear they'll
be good and only eat one. But don't leave your stash unguarded!
Chocolate Gremlin is made from polymer clay. Her body is frog
like, climbing the side of the painted gourd bowl

AFTER
THE CARNIVAL Series
After
the festivities. . . After Fat Tuesday . . . After the costumes
are shed and it is thought to be over, the seed begins to grow.
Embedded in the soul by the sheer energy of the event –
something new is born. Colors are brighter, thoughts are expansive
and creativity abounds . . . Anything is possible!
This
series can be viewed at Brandon Gallery in Fallbrook, CA

Dancing
Women Series
This
series was inspired by all women of the world who are forced to
endure unspeakable abuses and indignities, and yet their indomitable
spirits rise up in a dance of hope and defiance. . . . and their
banners read: “The Power of Love can conquer the Love of
Power.”

A
portion of all proceeds from the sale of the dancing women series
goes to Women for Women International www.womenforwomen.org

SOUL
OF THE GOURD
This
series, Soul of the Gourd, is a study of the images which have
imprinted on the surface of gourd. Many moons pass as the gourd
evolves into full maturity, basking in the sun, absorbing earth
and water, attracting organisms, becoming ripe and rich with archetypal
stories.
The
communication between gourd and artist is personal and subjective.
But the constant for those that are drawn here is our commonality
with it – born and raised in the elements of earth, water,
fire, and air, we resonate with the wholeness, the vessel of containment
and the inherent beauty of Soul.

| |

Tell
Me A Story
Tell me about your moon and the bear that lives inside your heart.
Tell me about that dark hollow place in you where the bats go
to nest. I want to remember the colors of the path that caused
you to become the unique creature you are today.
|

Vision
Quest
She has completed a phase of her life. Illuminated by the light
of a full ancestral moon, she tunes into the earth and consults
her animal guides.
She is vigilant – awaiting the new path to be revealed.
